Speaking Engagements
Chiropractor & speaker, Dr. Pamela Woodward is available for speaking engagements for your group or office. She is happy to work with you to develop a program that fits your needs exactly. Here, we have included several topics and groups that are close to Dr. Pam’s heart:
Midwives and Obstetricians
A healthy mom is a happy mom. Dr. Pam loves working closely with her patients’ birth teams. Having an open flow of information from professional to professional is key to providing appropriate and specific care for any patient, but especially pregnant women.
A well-informed, open conversation between a patient and her provider team will lead to a more empowered and happy birth. Dr. Pam is happy to explain her role in the care of pregnant women, including discussions of how chiropractic can help with pregnancy-related low back pain and sciatica, rib pain, pelvic biomechanics, and other issues that arise throughout pregnancy. Forming synergistic relationships with the other providers helping with this life-changing event is an important part of First Step Chiropractic’s mission.
Doulas
The unsung heroes of the birth process and “fourth trimester”, doulas are women that everyone should know about! From pain management during labor through nursing and helping adjust to home life, there are many ways that chiropractic overlaps with the work these women do everyday.
Dr. Pam is always singing doulas’ praises to her patients, and she is happy to meet with you to explain how to incorporate both practices and to recognize when your clients, both mom and baby, might be good candidates for chiropractic care.
Pediatricians
Much like having a cohesive team is important during pregnancy, it is just as key during childhood. Dr. Pam likes to meet with other doctors working in pediatric fields so that she can work to show how chiropractic is able to compliment traditional medicine.
Since the goal for everyone is happier, healthier kids Dr. Pam is eager to show how she aids this movement, while learning about where you feel she might be able to provide additional help to your patients.
Mothers & Teachers of Children with Special Needs
This is one of the fastest growing and underserved populations in our community today. With more and more children being diagnosed with various sensory and emotional disorders, it can be hard to sort through all the information out there.
Dr. Pam works to sit down with parents to explain what role the nervous system has in their children’s lives, and how a child with a sensory processing disorder, autism, ADD or ADHD (amongst other conditions) is both similar and different to children without a diagnosis when it comes to chiropractic care and how they process the world. For teachers, Dr. Pam likes to help you to take the tools you already have and see how they apply to each child’s individual presentation and, more importantly, to grasp why each kid, even with the same condition, can present so differently. Just as important, Dr. Pam will work with both groups on the importance of remembering to take care of yourself while working so hard to care for these kids!
Athletes, coaches, and trainers
Chiropractic and athletics go together better than just about any two groups you could find. In fact, if you are an athlete and not under chiropractic care, you’re falling behind! The importance of proper biomechanics is no stranger to athletes and their teams, but chiropractic considers the role of the spine and nervous system in all of this. Chiropractor & speaker, Dr. Pam would love to speak with your team of any age about the importance of chiropractic in everything from strength to balance and agility to flexibility and everything in between to take your abilities to the next level!
Office Teams
When your staff is feeling better, they work better. Chiropractor & speaker, Dr. Pam can help improve morale and productivity by educating your staff on common “desk-worker” issues like posture and ergonomics, and will work to help you come up with ways to get your staff more active and energetic.
