Chiropractic
This is the primary work of our office. Dr. Pam has a variety of chiropractic services and techniques she will utilize, often in combination with one another, to provide a truly unique adjustment to each patient.
The following techniques can be incorporated into your adjustment:
- Activator Technique – A gentle, instrument-based technique used for adjusting the spine and extremities. This is the primary technique utilized in our office for patients age two and up!
- Diversified Technique – The traditional technique that comes to mind when you think ‘chiropractor’ involving use of the hands to reset the spine. Please note, we only utilize this technique in specific situations. If you prefer this style of adjusting, we are happy to refer you to our favorite docs in the area who use this approach regularly.
- Sacro-Occipital Technique – This technique that accounts for the effects of gravity and tension on the nervous system and skeleton and uses the patient’s own weight and breath to adjust.
- Webster Technique – A technique that is primarily used to regulate pelvic biomechanics that is especially useful in pregnant women. Dr. Pam is certified in Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, in addition to having her Perinatal and Pediatric Certifications through the same organization.
- Infant Specific Modifications – Adjusting a baby is very different than adjusting an adult! We utilize slow, sustained contact adjustments to affect infants nervous systems and alignment while minimizing stress to the patient (and subsequently, their parents!).
Rehabilitation Exercises
From sports injuries to postural modifications, Dr. Pam is happy to provide you with exercises to do in-office and at home to help you sustain and support your adjustments and help you keep moving forward in your journey to health!
Neurological and Sensory Exercises
With some of our patients, brain strengthening exercises make a world of difference in their behavior and achievements. With all pediatric exams, we will screen for markers that indicate the need for these exercises, and will teach them to patients and caregivers as necessary.
Health Talks
Dr. Pam is available to provide health talks to groups both in and out of office. If you or someone you has a topic relating to chiropractic, nervous system health, or wellness that they would like to have Dr. Pam speak on, she would be happy to arrange a time and place for a meeting!
